WRIST SURGERY

The wrist is an incredibly complex joint composed of many bones, ligaments and tendons all working together to place your hand in positions that are functional.

Full mobility of the wrist is important, but a mobile wrist that is too painful to use makes the whole hand useless. At CQ Hand + Upper Limb, we aim to remove pain from your wrists, while keeping as much movement as possible. We also manage injuries of the wrist to prevent problems developing.

TRAUMA

Due to the complex nature of the wrist joint, injuries require careful consideration and fixation by a specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon. Some examples of injuries treated by CQ Hand + Upper Limb include:

  • Distal radius fractures

  • Wrist ligament injuries

  • Carpal Bone fractures and dislocations

ELECTIVE

Some traumatic conditions of the wrist do not appear for some time or treated in such a way that leaves you with stiffness, pain or mal-alignment. There are also many conditions that occur with repetitive use. Some examples of treatments offered include:

  • Radius malunion correction

  • Distal radio-unlar joint replacement

  • Total or partial wrist fusions

  • Scaphoid bone grafting

  • Scapholunate reconstructions
