Dr Michael Tripet, Anaesthetist at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton

Dr Michael Tripet is a specialist anaesthetist who provides anaesthesia for Dr Hirpara's upper limb operating lists at CQ Hand + Upper Limb. A Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), he trained across Australia and New Zealand and has practised as a staff specialist anaesthetist in Central Queensland since 2018.

His subspecialty interests are perioperative medicine and regional anaesthesia. At Rockhampton Base Hospital he ran the perioperative medicine and high-risk anaesthesia clinic and established a weekly high-risk surgical multidisciplinary meeting, and he brought regional anaesthesia into routine perioperative and acute-pain care — including regional techniques for rib-fracture management, now part of routine practice there. He holds a Master of Medicine in perioperative medicine from Monash University and is a Graduate of the Chapter of Perioperative Medicine.

This grounding in perioperative and high-risk anaesthesia means he is well placed to care for patients with medical complexity, and his interest in regional anaesthesia supports comfortable, well-managed pain relief around surgery. Dr Tripet has provided anaesthesia for Dr Hirpara's lists at the Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton since January 2026.
